Flea and Melody Ehsani are expecting their first child together and it doesn't look like they'll have much longer to wake.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist reached a huge milestone this month when he turned 60 on 16th October and it looks like he'll soon be kicking off his sixth decade as a new father.

It's not known when the baby is due, but the pair have recently been spotted still out and about with her baby bump.

Ehsani first broke the news of her pregnancy on Instagram back in July.

Sharing her baby bump in a series of photos, the designer wrote the tongue-in-cheek caption: "I’ve put on a couple pounds"

Flea and Ehsani tied the knot back in a ceremony in 2019.

Sharing a photo of them on the big day, the Californication bassist - whose real name is Michael Peter Balzary - captioned it: "My life has changed forever and I am eternally humble and grateful. The person who sees all of me and knows who I am. My wife @melodyehsani"

Flea already has two children - Clara Balzary, who he shares with ex wife Loesha Zeviar, and Sunny Bebop Balzary, who he shares with ex-fiance Frankie Rayder.

While Red Hot Chili Peppers show no signs of slowing down in their personal life, the band have also been pretty busy when it comes to work too, releasing not one, but two of albums this year.

Speaking to Radio X's Johnny Vaughan about their first studio effort of the year, Unlimited Love, Flea said: "I can just tell you that this record is the best of us.

"It’s the best that we have to offer. We dug as deep as we could. We don’t take one second ever for granted. We made the best music and look... like or don’t like it... there’s nothing else like it.

"You can’t go hear another record that sounds like the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Unlimited Love. You cannot. It is physically impossible!”

This month saw Chad Smith talk about their latest release, Return Of The Dream Canteen, which he revealed came about during a period of creativity during the COVID-19 pandmeic.

“It’s another 17-song album from the quarantine year 2021," said the Tippa My Tongue rocker.

“You know, like everything else in the world, we were like - what is going on and how long is it going to go? So we just made all these songs and we wanted to put them all out because we loved them. "

The 60 year old rocker joked: "This is us, leaving our fans wanting less. Seriously though, seriously though we’re really pleased with it. It’s just got a lot of great songs."
