Both Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands were both born in the South, but they moved to Manchester to study. Calling themselves The Dust Brothers (after a US production team), the pair’s first track, Song To The Siren, was released by top DJ and producer Andy Weatherall on his Junior Boy’s Own label. Legal action caused a name change to The Chemical Brothers and their first album, Exit Planet Dust, was released under that name in 1995. Their seventh album, Born In The Echoes, was released in 2015.
