The winners will be announced on-air on Global’s radio stations and on Global Player on Friday 22nd March 2024.

Global, the Media & Entertainment group, today (Monday 4th March 2024) has revealed the shortlist for The Global Awards 2024, celebrating the biggest stars of music and entertainment across 15 exciting categories, including Best Rock & Indie, Best Song, Rising Star, Best Male, Best Female, Best Group and more.

The categories reflect the content aired on Global’s radio stations and on Global Player, and winners will be announced on-air on Global’s radio stations and on Global Player on Friday 22nd March 2024.

Entering its seventh successive year, The Global Awards brings together all of Global’s radio stations including Capital, Heart, Smooth, Classic FM, Radio X, Capital XTRA, Capital Dance, Gold, as well as Global Player, to celebrate the biggest stars of music, podcasting and entertainment across a wide range of genres.

After a sensational year, RAYE leads the nominations for The Global Awards, receiving six nominations across six different categories. International pop superstars Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo follow, with four nominations each, as do Calvin Harris, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, Dave, and Tate McRae.

The Best Rock & Indie category includes bands legendary US rockers Blink 182 and Foo Fighters, alongside UK legends Blur and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, as well as our Radio X Record of the Year 2023 winners Nothing But Thieves.

Meanwhile Foo Fighters and Nothing But Thieves also receive a nod in the Best Group category, where they are shortlisted among Busted, Jonas Brothers, Rudimental and Take That.

The Global Legend category sees the likes of The Rolling Stones, Queen, Bruce Springsteen and Elton John shortlisted alongside ABBA, Dolly Parton, Madonna, the late Tina Turner and more.

Shortlisted podcasts for the Best Podcast category include My Therapist Ghosted Me with Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally, Filthy Ritual with Hannah Maguire and Suruthi Bala and The News Agents hosted by Emily Maitlis, Jon Sopel and Lewis Goodall.
