Terms And Conditions

Discovery Channel – Richard Hammond’s BIG radio competition on Radio X -January 2020
RULES
1.    The following rules (“Specific Rules”) together with the general competition terms and conditions (which can be found at https://www.radiox.co.uk/terms-conditions/ the “ Competition Terms and Conditions”) of Global (as defined in the Competition Terms and Conditions apply to ‘Discovery Channel – Richard Hammond’s BIG radio competition on Radio X- January 2020’ (the “Competition") which will run on Friday 24th January 2020 on Radio X (the “Radio Station”).
2.    Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have read and accepted the Specific Rules and the Competition Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them. 

Details of the Competition:
3.    Friday 24th January 2020: To enter the Competition an Entrant must send a text message with the keyword and the answer to the multiple choice question stated on air to the Radio X Text line number stated by the Presenter (the “Text Message Line”).
4.    Text messages will be charged at standard network rates. The opening and closing times of the Text Message Line will be given out on air during the 6am-10am Radio X Breakfast show on Friday 24th January 2020.
5.    One Entrant with the correct answer will be selected at random from all correct and elegible entries and brought to air where they will automatically win and be awarded the ‘Trip’ element of the prize.
6.    Once on air, The Breakfast team will then give the Winner the opportunity to win spending money to add to their prize by answering 3 additional questions. The Winner will have 5 seconds to answer each question and each question will represent a different total amount of money. Question One will be worth £100; Question Two will be worth £250; Question Three will be worth £500.
7.    The Winner will get three chances to win the money so if they get Question One incorrect the first time, they will have the chance to win the £100 with Question Two or Three. This is also true for the £250, if they get Question One correct but Question Two incorrect then the Winner will still have the opportunity to answer Question Three to win the £250 spending money.
8.    If the Winner gets one or more of the 3 additional questions incorrect, the Breakfast team will offer one final question and the Winner will have 5 seconds to answer. If the Winner gets this question correct then they win the full £500 spending money to add to the ‘Trip’ element of the prize. If the winner does not get this final question correct then they will win the ‘trip’ element of the prize and the spending money value earnt from answering the 3 original 3 additional questions.
9.    All selected Entrants will be contacted by telephone by a representative of Global. All Entrants selected will be required to talk to the presenter(s) and the conversation may be recorded and played on-air. If the caller fails to answer a return call from a representative of Global, is driving at the time of the call and is unable to pull over or cannot continue the call for any reason, the call may be terminated and another Entrant selected at random.

Eligibility:
10.    Entrants must be 18 or over and hold a valid passport.
11.    Entry is restricted to one entry per person; duplicate entries will be excluded from the Competition.

Prizes:
One winner from Friday’s competition round will receive a prize including:
12.    Cash up to the value of £1000; £500 cash from the ‘Trip’ element of the prize as detailed below, plus the cash value won as detailed in sections 6,7 and 8, and below.
Friday 24th January 2020 ‘Trip’ prize:
•    Return flights for 2 people to Rome
•    Return transfers from the airport to the hotel
•    4 Nights accommodation at a 4-star hotel in Rome
•    Breakfast for 2 people in the hotel restaurant each morning
•    Travel insurance
•    £500 cash

Friday 24th January 2020- Spending money breakdown:
•    Question One: £100 cash total
•    Question Two: £250 cash total
•    Question Three: £500 cash total

13.    Travel is subject to availability at the discretion of NDL Travel and excludes bank holidays, Valentine’s day/weekend and school holiday periods, specifically the Christmas holidays, summer holidays, spring and autumn half terms and Easter in both the UK and Italy.
14.    Prize includes return economy flights, all flight taxes and surcharges but doesn’t include any checked in luggage. Subject to availability, departure airport used will be the winners nearest international airport that operates direct flights to Rome. Please note, this may not be your closest airport. If you don’t hold a UK passport you may need a visa for this destination, and this should be arranged with the appropriate embassy. Although please note the cost of a visa of this kind isn’t included in your prize.
15.    Transfers will be private and not shared with other passengers.
16.    You will be staying in a 4* hotel, sharing a double room with en-suite bathroom on a bed and breakfast basis. If you’d prefer a twin room, NDL will do what they can to secure this for you, but it cannot be guaranteed.
17.    Your prize stay also includes funds to pay tourism tax that is payable locally to the hotel when you check-out.
18.    Travel insurance is subject to normal terms of acceptance. Pre-existing medical conditions may not be covered. No age restrictions apply.
19.    Spending money will be transferred directly to the winner upon confirmation of full and correct bank details. Transfers can take up to 5 working days.
20.    All prizes must be claimed and booked by the prize winner within 12 months from the date of NDL’s initial correspondence with them.
21.    Global reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize at its absolute discretion
