Russell Brand Has A Chat With A REAL Cyborg

Neil Harbisson has an antenna implanted in his head… And someone managed to hack him!

This week, Russell’s guest was Neil Harbisson, a New York-based performance artist who is the first person to ever have an antenna implanted in his head, thus allowing him to be officially recognised as a GENUINE CYBORG.

According to his site, “The antenna allows him to perceive visible and invisible colours such as infrareds and ultraviolets via sound waves. The antenna’s internet connection allows him to receive colours from space as well as images, videos, music or phone calls directly into his head via external devices such as mobile phones or satellites.”

Sadly, it turns out that while Neil has the capacity to receive a phonecall inside his own brain, Russell’s actually talking to him on a landline.

It’s all in the cause of art, of course, but Russell and Matt are keen to get to the bottom of what it’s like to be a real ‘borg. Says Russell: “It’s not like Robocop, Matt!”

However, Neil’s actually had his brain hacked by someone - and the team are keen to find out what sort of pictures he was sent…
