Former Guns N Roses' axe grinder Slash has revealed that the band plan to build a dedicated website to bring in a replacement for former front man Scott Weiland.

He told Billboard: "The band is actually talking about building a website and doing some auditions, via that, so that's been something that's developing at this point."

Although it hasn't yet been confirmed whether the online auditions will be open to the public they have yet to rule it out.

Radio X hears there's a little known singer called Axl Rose who may just be looking for a band to group up with. Slash, if you need his number just let us know.

Weiland - who has now rejoined his old band Stone Temple Pilots for a summer tour - split from Velvet Revolver a few weeks ago after the rest of the band gave him the cold shoulder and ignored him on tour for a whole month.

Despite Weiland telling press that the band were splitting up, Slash assured fans that the rest of the band plan to continue on without him.
