Meghan has shared a previously unseen photo of Prince Archie as a baby sleeping on Harry's chest to celebrate his seventh birthday.

The Duchess of Sussex shared the image on Instagram, along with a snap of Archie on the beach holding a stick beside his younger sister, Princess Lilibet, who is due to turn five next month.

The post is captioned "7 years later...happy birthday to our sweet boy" followed by a heart symbol.

Archie, the first child of Meghan and Harry, was born on 6 May, 2019 at Portland Hospital in London.

He is sixth in line to the throne, while Lilibet is just one place behind him.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California in 2020, after initially setting up home in Canada following their departure from the UK, and live in Montecito with their children.

Meghan stepped back from being a senior working royal as they embarked on a new life in the US when Prince Archie was 10 months old.

Last month, the Duke of Sussex said he will always be part of the royal family during his surprise visit to Ukraine, days after the couple finished a tour to Australia.

He delivered an impassioned speech at the Kyiv Security Forum in which he appealed to Vladimir Putin to "stop this war" and urged "American leadership" to honour its obligations in the Ukrainian conflict.

Harry told ITV News he does not recognise the description of himself as "not a working royal".

He said: "I will always be part of the royal family and I'm here working and doing the very thing that I was born to do, and I enjoy doing it."
