The Strokes are building up to their British Summer Time Festival headline show by recording new music, frontman Julian Casablancas has confirmed.

In an interview with Noisey, Julian said that the group were getting together in Manhattan for a week or so to try out some ideas - and he was still very enthusiastic about what the band could do. But he added that he wants to keep recording with his other band, The Voidz.

"It’s the first time we’ve been exclusively writing since Comedown Machine," said Casablancas.

"We’re planning on recording stuff. I still think we could do cool things and I’ll do that. I’d like to do both [bands] really if I could."
