The dating app is helping its customers find friends as well as love.

We know how difficult it is to find love these days, but a dating app has recognised the fact it can be even harder to make friends.

Bumble - the app which calls for women to make the first move - has now added a BFF function.

According to Tech Crunch, the app which was created by Tinder co-founder, Whitney Wolfe - will now allow customers to switch to BFF mode, suggesting people you may get on with based on your interests and Facebook friends.

However, men and women can only be matched with the same sex, so there's no currently no chance of mixed gendered platonic matches just yet.

And as for keeping potential friends and lovers separate?

Matches are distinguished by colour, with conversations for BFFs in green and chats with potential dates in yellow.
