Natasha Khan has unveiled her contribution to upcoming science meets music compilation, Body of Songs.
Body of Songs sees Britain's most talented musicians and medical experts brought together to create a collection of songs, inspired by the organs of the body.
Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes), Ghostpoet and drum n bass legend Goldie have all contributed to the project - with Natasha Khan taking inspiration from the skin.
"The song is from the perspective of an old lady looking back on her life through thoughts of the history in her skin," she explained.
"We laid out initial parts by following a diagram of a cross section of the layers of skin. Some synths were a hair or the skin cells that sit like bricks, and we used a heart beat pulse for the beat, and electronic sounds for nerve endings.
"I also used my skin as percussion that was turned up in volume so you can hear it!"
The artists were guided by medical experts including pathologists, neurologists, stem cell scientists, patients at varying stages of illness and confronting the organs themselves.
The full collection will include ten songs - with more artists unveiled throughout 2014 and into next year.
