Famy - Friends Home

21 August 2014, 06:00

Friends Home is out 22 September 2014 on Transgressive Records

The track is the third single to be taken from Famy's debut album WE FAM ECONO, which is released next month. It was recorded in a working church in Wales, and produced by Miti Adhikari.

Previous singles were Donkey and Ava. The record pairs FAMY’s familiar echo-drenched gang vocals with natural reverb to create an inventive, exciting collection of leftfield guitar songs.

All 12 tracks on WE FAM ECONO are informed from the bands shared experiences of growing up in the South of France.

Fans can pre-order the album along with Volume 1 of the band’s own, self-edited fanzine. It features visual documentation donated by Mino Tristovskij, covering the album’s creation, a discussion with the record’s producer Miti Adhikari, and words from the band’s artist and collaborator, Robert Charles Dunahay.

FAMY said of the fanzine: “It’s good to document things. Our first single came on without great triumph, just when you express yourself things make better sense. And besides, losing a father or girlfriend and desperately loving your friends are excuses enough for art. Or documentary.

“Volume 1 is a scrapbook of the history of FAMY leading up to our debut LP. We wanted to present ourselves in a way no-one else can.”

FAMY are Bruce Yates, Arthur Yates and Luca Maria Galbiati
