Great X-Pectations 2016: Sundara Karma

Sundara Karma 2015

Anthemic rock from this young quartet from Reading.

LISTEN: Sundara Karma - Vivienne

Sundara means “beautiful” in Sanskrit, and this quartet live up to their blissful name with some epic and anthemic indie rock, gaining comparisons from Arcade Fire to Bruce Springsteen. And Oscar Lulu (vocals guitar), Ally Baty (guitar), Dom Cordell (bass) and Haydn Evans (drums) are still only teenagers.

Hailing from Reading, their debut single Cold Heaven was released in the Spring of 2014 on Chess Club Records and the past 18 months has seen a raft of excellent singles and two worthy EPs released.

They’ve also played Reading and Leeds, Boardmasters, Latitude and Calling Festivals, while supporting the likes of Circa Waves, Wolf Alice and The Wombats in between.

Currently working on their debut album, the band have lined up a huge UK tour in February and March. They’re going to be massive.
