Deftones reign supreme with searing headline set at All Points East presents Outbreak Fest 2026

The alt-metal icons delivered a stellar performance at East London's Victoria Park, with epic performances from Interpol, IDLES, AFI, Amyl and the Sniffers and more.

There's very few acts that can bring together artists as varied as Interpol and EsDeeKid together on one line-up, but Deftones are certainly one of them.
The alt-metal rockers brought the first week of shows at Victoria Park to a close, playing All Points East presents Outbreak Fest on Sunday (23rd August).
Before they took to the stage, crowds gathered to witness sets from the likes of JPEGMAFIA, Deafheaven, and Basement, who have just announced UK tour dates for 2026.
Interpol's afternoon show on the East Stage was NYC indie perfection, including favourites from across their back catalogue, including Evil, Obstacle 1, Slow Hands and PDA.

On the other side of the festival, IDLES pulled an impressive crowd on the West Stage, with their set featuring belters from across their five acclaimed studio albums, Brutalism (2017), Joy as an Act of Resistance (2018), Ultra Mono (2020), Crawler (2021) and TANGK (2024).
Frontman Joe Talbot's stage work was as masterful as ever, matched only by the enthusiasm of guitarist Mark Bowen, who launched himself into the crowd while donning a pink dress.
Back on the festival's main stage were Amy Taylor, Declan Mehrtens, Gus Romer and Bryce Wilson - colloquially known as Amyl and the Sniffers. A firm fixture on any festival line-up worth its salt over the last few years, the Aussie punk rockers were the perfect primer to Deftones bill-topping set.
When Chino Moreno and co did finally take to the stage, they kicked things off as tradition dictates- with their iconic 1998 single Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) single.
Next came their 1997 album title track Around the Fur, before they rattled through a career-spanning set backed by epic staging and lighting throughout.
Rosemary and Sextape were among some of the welcome tracks on the setlist, which spanned from their 1995 debut album right up to their 2025 offering, Private Music. But it was unquestionably a back-to-back helping of iconic favourites that provided the highlight of the entire night.
Bathed in orange light and backed by the silhouette of a sun, Moreno delivered a spine-tingling performance of the band's 2000 single Change (In the House of Flies), followed by their inimitable 1997 anthem, My Own Summer (Shove It).
After returning for an encore, Deftones brought their set to a close with Adrenaline favourite 7 Words, leaving thousands of fans moshing and headbanging into the night.
As the weekend's proverbial (and literal) dust settles, there's no denying that Deftones are at the heavier end of the music on offer at Victoria Park this year, but it makes them no less relevant.
30 years on and the Sacramento outfit appear to be just as beloved as ever, with their set not just proving far-reaching and diverse their fanbase is, but how crucial they are to the pantheon of nu-metal music.
All Points East Festival 2026 continues this week with a double header of headline dates from Tyler The Creator on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August, plus a bill-topping set from Twenty One Pilots on the Sunday 30th August.
