4. The Verve (again) Vs The Rolling Stones
For the classic 1997 hit Bittersweet Symphony, T'Verve sampled an orchestral version of The Rolling Stones' The Last Time, as arranged by Andrew Loog Oldham, former manager of said Stones. However, despite licensing the sample, ABKCO, the company run by ex-Stones manager Allen Klein, claimed that they'd used too much of the song and the result was Mick Jagger and Keith Richards sharing the songwriting credits with Richard Ashcroft.
