20. The Beatles Vs The Beatles
It all went sour for the Fabulous Four in 1969 when a dispute over who should manage The Beatles broke out. Paul McCartney favoured his wife Linda's father, Lee Eastman, but The Other Three liked Allen Klein, who had been doing the job for The Rolling Stones. This wobbly state of affairs continued for a while, but when Paul decided he wanted to get out of the partnership with Apple, the Beatles' company, he was blocked. The only option was for Paul to sue John, George and Ringo - which resulted in a painful and long-running spate of legal action that rumbled on well into the 1970s.
