The Killers' frontman has announced plans for a new solo record.

Brandon Flowers' have revealed plans to release a new solo album. The record will be called The Desired Effect and is to be released on May 18th.

The Killers man made the announcement via Twitter, simply saying "#TheDesiredEffect." Brandon posted the following message on his website - "We will finally achieve The Desired Effect. Ariel (Rechtshaid, producer) and I have been collaborating in the studio, working together in the spirit of conversation, contention, and at long last, sweet contrition. Noone has yet seen or heard the change. But soon we all will." You can see the initial Tweet below.

Flowers uploaded a video to his youtube channel on Monday (February 23rd) teasing new music. The 30 second clip sees a hand, presumably Brandon's, playing along to a keyboard melody. The music is likely to be from Brandon's new solo record, the follow-up to 2010's Flamingo.
