"It's Nice To Have That Comfort": Brandon Flowers On UK Shows

The Killers frontman is about to launch his second solo album The Desired Effect and spoke to Radio X's Danielle Perry about trying new songwriting methods and all-star collaborators.
It's been five years since Brandon Flowers dipped his toes in solo waters with Flamingo and he's now back with his follow-up The Desired Effect.
He spoke to Radio X's Danielle Perry about the different method he took with this record, as well as bringing Danielle from Haim and Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys onboard.
Having just announced UK tour dates for May, Brandon told Danielle that he can't wait to get back to some of his favourite UK venues. "Brixton Academy is definitely a place where I feel at home. We've played there so many times over the years, had some great gigs and moments.
"So it's nice to go there and have that comfort."
Talking about collaborations, Flowers said:"We're always surprised - you just need to ask people! I almost don't want to say that, I don't want people steal my ideas...I've been lucky, how many people have responded positively and come back and do it."
With this album being recorded in the Killers' own Battle Born Studio near Las Vegas, Brandon was closer to his family and it sounds like it's something he really valued.
"There's something to be said for taking you out of your comfort zone, but it's also nice to be able to do your job and go home and sleep in your own bed at night!"
The Desired Effect comes out on 18 May, with the new single You Can't Deny My Love out now.
