Tim Burgess has been telling Radio X that the tribute show for the late Charlatans drummer Jon Brookes will be a "big event" with plenty of guests… but that the full line-up is still under wraps.
A Night For Jon Brookes with The Charlatans and Friends will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday October 18 and all proceeds will go to the Brain Tumour Charity.
Brookes was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2010 and returned to drum with the band less than a year later. However, he passed away on August 13 this year.
Radio X's Danielle Perry asked the Charlatans frontman about the full line-up of the show, but he told her: "At the moment, it's kind of all under wraps. It's the million dollar question. But it's going to be a big event. We know some people who'd love to be there. We're going to celebrate as best we can." Tim also revealed that the prestigious Royal Albert Hall was easy to secure as the show's venue. "Some things are meant to be - it was offered to us on a plate. Jon had such an effect on people, everyone's come forward to get involved. People who knew him very well and people we didn't know knew him at all."
The full line-up will be confirmed later and tickets will go on general sale on Friday September 20 at 10am from www.gigsandtours.com or www.ticketmaster.co.uk
