Reports say Ian Brown and co. are set to release their first album in 22 years.
The Stone Roses are are on the cusp of releasing their third album, according to reports.
The Manchester four-piece announced huge summer shows, including dates at Manchester's Etihad stadium this year, but have yet to release new music in 22 years.
According to the Mirror, a source said: “Ian Brown and the lads have been busy getting their next album ready. It will be album number three.
“It’s a long time coming, but they feel the time is right now. They’ve been back in the studio. Everyone is very excited about it.”
The news comes after a Manchester record store, Vinyl Revival, teased big news for The Stone Roses fans at the start of the month.
After writing on Twitter that it "was a big day" for fans, the store deleted their tweet and later apologised, strongly suggesting that they had a "genuine reason" to believe an announcement.
To all Roses fans.We had a genuine reason to believe there would be news today and this was not a publicity stunt. #keepthefaith— vinylrevivalmcr (@VinylRevivalMcr) March 4, 2016
Vinyl Revival were one of the record stores to display pictures of lemons in their window, which appeared all over Manchester ahead of the news of The Stone Roses Etihad Stadium dates.
If the reports our true, the album would follow 1989's self-titled album, and 1994's The Second Coming.
Could there finally be a third helping for Roses fans? Watch this space.
