Royal Blood cancel further shows due to illness

Royal Blood 2014

After previously cancelling UK shows, the Brighton duo have now postponed shows in Italy, Spain and Portugal after singer and bassist Mike Kerr contracted severe tonsillitis.

A statement on their website reads "We regret to advise that due to illness, Royal Blood must postpone their show at Alcatraz in Milan tonight (Tues 18 November). And on medical advice, the band must also postpone their shows at LA 2, Barcelona (Thurs 20 November), Sala But, Madrid( Fri 21 November) and Armazem F, Lisbon (Sat 22 November)."

"Customers are advised to retain their tickets and await further information with regard to rescheduled dates which will be planned and announced as quickly as possible."

When cancelling the UK shows, they said "We wish to sincerely apologise to all ticket holders for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused. Mike has been diagnosed with severe tonsillitis and further to medical advice is not well enough to perform."

The band are hoping to reschedule the shows for as soon as possible. Royal Blood are scheduled to depart on a European tour next week, returning to the UK in February next year.

Royal Blood are due to support Foo Fighters next year at their Wembley Stadium shows.
