Due to popular demand, the Go Robot four-piece will close their tour with an extra date at London's O2 on 18 December.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have just added an extra date to their upcoming UK tour.

Due to a high demand for pre-sale tickets, the Dark Necessities four-piece will finish their string of live gigs with a third and final London show at The O2 on 18 December.

Following a triumphant set at Reading & Leeds festival last weekend, the California funk-rockers will also visit Glasgow's SSE Hydro, Birmingham's Genting Arena and Manchester Arena, with support from Babymetal.

Speaking to Radio X about the  J-pop, metal idol trio, Flea said: "They’re banging, the band is really great, they’re awesome".

The gigs mark the first time the band will have toured Britain in five years.

Tickets go on sale on Friday 2 September from 10am and every ticket purchased includes your choice of a standard physical or standard digital copy of The Getaway track.

Meanwhile, the band released another video teaser for their Go Robot single, the next track to be taken from their eleventh studio album, The Getaway.
