Pixies 2016

Plus, the band have added more dates to their European tour this autumn…

As previously reported, the Boston alternative rock legends are back in September with their second album since they reunited in 2004.

Head Carrier will be released on 30 September and will be the first album to be recorded with bassist Paz Lenchantin, who joined the group two years ago.

The scorching new track is titled Talent and kicks off with a classically obscure Black Francis reference: a mention of actor Jack Palance, probably best known these days for his role in the comedy City Slickers and the 50s Western, Shane.

Talent is available as an instant grat when you pre-order Head Carrier and is on all the main streaming platforms.

Have a listen here, but be careful - there are a few sweary words in there.

In other news, Pixies have added more shows to their sold-out tour of the UK. They will now play the O2 Academy Brixton on 6 December, Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on 7 December and Birmingham Academy on 8 December.

Pre-sale tickets were available from today (Wednesday 17 August), with general sale kicking off at 9am on Friday 19th.
