The band have posted a “teaser video” online, confirming that they will follow-up Indie Cindy in 2016.
Pixies are back! Woop woop!
Not only have the band confirmed European tour dates - including a show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 11 July - but it would appear that they’ve been recording again, according to a video they’ve just released.
The 20-second video clip was posted via the band’s channels today (8 February) and features some pleasing racket over photos of the band, including bassist Paz Lenchantin.
The clip winds up with the statement: “Coming… 2016”
In 2014, the band released the well-received LP Indie Cindy, which was their first full length outing since they reformed in 2004. It was their first album in 23 years and the follow-up to 1991’s Trompe Le Monde.
So it would seem that there’s been plenty of activity at Pixies Central, with more announcements to come…
