Noel Gallagher, Maccabees And Alt-J Win At Ivor Novello Awards

The Ivor Novello Awards took place in London today (May 16)… and Noel Gallagher was honoured in the annual celebration of songwriting.

Gallagher was given the Outstanding Collection award for his work over the Oasis and solo years.

Meanwhile, The Maccabees won the Best Contemporary Song award for Pelican and Alt-J won best album for an Awesome Wave.

Also honoured at the ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel were Gavin Rossdale of Bush (International Achievement), Calvin Harris (Songwriter Of The Year) and Marc Almond (The Ivors Inspiration Award). Emeli Sande won the most gongs, with two awards - Most Performed Work and Best Song Musically And Lyrically for Next To Me.
