The Hole singer opened up about 90s rock rivalries and revealed why most grunge bands have written songs about her.

Courtney Love has opened up about why Kurt Cobain was "pissed" off by Pearl Jam and their frontman Eddie Vedder.

As reported by Alternative Nation, speaking about the rivalry between grunge bands in a NatGeo TV interview, Love revealed: "Chris Cornell, Mark Arm, Eddie Vedder, and Kurt, there was a rivalry.

"There was a rivalry to have your voice be heard, and be successful, but to have your voice be heard."

The former wife of the late Nirvana frontman added: "I remember when Pearl Jam beat Nirvana onto the cover of Time, and that pissed Kurt off, let me tell you.”

Talking about Nirvana's Lithium single and other grunge classics in a recent podcast with Anna Faris, the Live Through This rocker also claimed many songs from the era were written about her because she dated a lot of bands.

As Alternative Nation reports, Love revealed: “I listen to Lithium [on Sirius XM], which is like all of the 90’s songs and a lot of them are actually about me, which is interesting. There’s so many Smashing Pumpkins songs about me, there’s a Bush song about me.

"I remember I used to date this movie star in the 90’s and we were listening to KROQ, and there were like six songs in a row, and five of them were about me. I told him that and he was like, ‘No they aren’t!’ I was like, ‘Yeah they are! I dated every one of those guys dude!’ He was like, ‘You’re such a slut!'”
