The trio say they're "excited" about proposals to turn their new album Drones into a musical once they're finished touring it.

Muse are no strangers to thinking big but their latest plan could be their boldest yet: they want to turn their new album Drones into a stage musical.

"It would be great to be able to do that at some point!" said bassist Chris Wolstenholme. "It would be great to be able to have it incorporated into some sort of musical or something...it's not something we've ever done before. It would be very exciting to be a part of it."

QUIZ: MATCH THE CONCEPT TO THE CONCEPT ALBUM

And Wolstenholme has been talking about how the concept for Drones came about: "Matt had said it was a concept album and he'd sort of had this Drones idea - but you know, he didn't really elaborate on it too much initially."

The album comes out on 8 June with the band headlining the Download Festival this year.
