Mumford And Sons have been telling Radio X that their Gentlemen Of The Road Stopover gigs this summer will be incredible…and may even include some good old fashioned British sorcery!
The band were talking about the special shows as they triumphed at the 2013 BRIT Awards at London's O2, where they were given the Best British Group gong. The first of the boutique gigs will take place in Lewes, East Sussex on July 19 and 20, with Vampire Weekend and The Vaccines also playing.
"Lewes is going to be awesome," the band's Winston Marshall told Radio X. "We're gonna take over the street next to the brewery and put on loads of events. Every town has a lot of different things to give, so every one is unique.
"There's a good comedy circuit in Lewes. There are lots of weird things like a luthiery [a stringed instrument maker - Mediaeval Ed], a lot of guitar making, that sort of thing. There's even sorcery. We don't know how we're going to incorporate that."
We're sure the Mumfords will find a way. You can find out more about the gigs at
