The Libertines and Wolf Alice lead NME Awards Nominations

The Libertines

The bands have both received six nods each.

The Libertines and Wolf Alice are leading the nominations for the NME Awards 2016.

The Gunga Din band and the Freazy four-piece have picked up four nods each, appearing in the same categories for Best British Band, Best Track and Best Live Band.

Other acts to be nominated are Foals - who are up for four gongs, including Best Band and Best Album - and The Maccabees, who are are up for three awards, including Best Album.

Included on the Hero of The Year shortlist are Adele, Dave Grohl, Jeremy Corbyn, Florence Welch and Kanye West, who is also up for Villain Of The Year.

Acts will find out if they have won a prize on 17 February 2016 a ceremony at the O2 Academy Brixton.
