Carl Barat: Libertines may play impromptu gigs
To warm up for their Hyde Park shows, The Libertines may just roll up at “one of their old haunts” say Carl Barat.
Speaking with the Evening Standard, The Libertines frontman has sparked new rumours that the iconic band could play warm up shows in small London venues as a warm up.
The Hyde Park show will be the first time the band have played together since 2010, where they supported Arcade Fire at Reading And Leeds Festival. Although looking forward to the show, and the million or so quid they'll get for playing it, Barat has voiced some concerns.
“It could be the most boring show anyone’s ever seen. We could get bottled off. Or it could be breathtaking and everyone could lose their minds and their bowel control.”
Earlier this week, the band announced they would be headlining the Spanish festival Benicàssim along with Kasabian.
The only question left is where these "old haunts" could be? The Forum? A pub in Camden? Their old flat?
