Kasabian today shared their brand new single, Great Pretender, and Serge Pizzorno joined The Chris Moyles Show for a catch up.
Speaking about the new single, he told Moyles: "Great Pretender is about, you know, the sort of moment of imposter syndrome, where we all feel like, 'How did we get here?' Like, what are we doing here?' And Abbey Road [studio] 2 was that moment. I was scoring a film, a Hollywood film."
He went on: "And I arrived there and I didn't... You know, I got a GCSE in music. I can't read music, but t I've got the London Philharmonic Orchestra. And they're sort of waiting for me for direction. And I just suddenly go, 'What am I doing here? This is not good.'
"And then something clicked and then I went, 'Right, okay, so we need a bit more from the cellos'. And then the violins were a bit ahead. And I'm going, oh, I've turned into [a composer]... But then you suddenly realise we're all just making it up."
Watch our full interview with the frontman, where he also looks back on the making on some of the band's most iconic songs and looks ahead to Kasabian's live shows, plus their epic date at Finsbury Park.
