Serge: we decided on the length of 48:13 before it was finished

Serge has told Radio X Kasabian went to great lengths to make sure new album 48:13 was exactly 48 minutes and 13 seconds long.
"I promise you the amount of time and effort it took to get the CD correct, it was insane on every level. I decided on the name and the length before I finished the record," he told Radio X's Jon Holmes.
"I just fell in love with the number. Certain songs were made shorter, there was choruses cut out, it was ridiculous."
However the band have encountered problems with their precise length. Some eagle eyed music fans noticed that on iTunes the record adds up to just 48 minutes and six seconds - seven second short.
"You have to trust me on this, the CD, the master CD is perfect. iTunes have their own way of dealing with things, they have their own system which is obviously wrong," Serge continued.
"We can't do anything about it, which is a real shame, it took us forever, it was complete insanity, I'll never do it again, I promise."
Serge was talking on the Radio X Breakfast Show with Jon Holmes.
