Radio X DJ, Ricky Wilson, revealed the female vocalist on their sixth album has a very down to earth day job.
Kaiser Chiefs probably had a few famous singers in mind when recording their forthcoming Stay Together album, but it turns out they enlisted the help of a receptionist instead.
According to the Daily Star, Brian Higgings - who worked with the band on their latest studio effort along with the Xenomania team - suggested Sarah Thompson, the talented receptionist who works in their offices.
Ricky Wilson told the outlet: "Sarah is a singer in her own right, but if you ring up Xenomania it's Sarah that answers the phone.
"We needed a female voice on the song, and Xenomania suggested Sarah. She was amazing - and it was on the first day of recording the album."
The band's Stay Together album - the follow-up to 2014's Education, Education, Education & War - is released on 7 October 2016.
