Marr fans can expect his career-spanning memoir later this year.

Johnny Marr has revealed a release date for his upcoming Set The Boy Free autobiography.

The former Smiths guitarist took to Twitter to confirm his book will be published on hardback, e-book and audiobook on 3 November 2016.

That's definitely one for our Christmas list!

On his official website, Marr said of the title: I wanted to convey a feeling of breaking free, that has been a constant throughout my life. A feeling that expresses itself as both escape and discovery. Transcendence. I found it through rock ‘n’ roll and art and a journey living both in the modern world.

The memoir promises to cover the span of Marr's career, from The Smiths to Electronic, The Healers, Bryan Ferry, Talking Heads, Kirsty MacColl, Pet Shop Boys, Billy Bragg, Nile Rogers, Bert Jansch, The Pretenders, The The, Modest Mouse, The Cribs - and everything in-between.

Meanwhile, the How Soon Is Now rocker is set to support Noel Gallagher at the Glasgow Summer Sessions on 26 August.
