Noel Gallagher performs on stage with Johnny Marr in London
After heavy rumours, the former Oasis man joined Marr on stage at last night's gig.
Johnny Marr played one of his biggest solo shows to date last night (23 October) at London's Brixton Academy. During the encore, Noel Gallagher came on stage to perform with the iconic guitarist. Welcoming Gallagher on stage, Marr said "I've known this guy for twenty years. He's got a bright future ahead of him!"
The two performed a cover of Iggy Pop's Lust For Life and the Smiths classic How Soon Is Now.
Gallagher recently revealed that Marr would be appearing on his new album Chasing Yesterday on closing track The Ballad Of Mighty I. Speaking on the track, Noel remarked "I have to say, he’s unbelievable. He’s way up there, on another level to the rest of us. The result is a burst of energy that helped make Mighty I one of the best songs I’ve ever written."
Johnny Marr recently popped into Radio X towers for an album playback with John Kennedy. You can listen to the two chatting about Playland here. Playland is out now.
