He gave a shout out to his fellow Londoners, who revealed they were splitting after 14 years yesterday.
Jamie T dedicated the first Radio X play of his Power Over Men single to The Maccabees, who announced they were splitting after 14 years on Tuesday (9 August).
The South London boy spoke to Radio X's Phil Clifton about the new music on his forthcoming Trick album, which is set for release on 2 September.
When asked if his Tinfoil Boy and Power Over Men singles were an indication of his fourth studio release, he said: "You always want to try and kind of do something different and I think it’s always quite good to freak people out a bit and keep people guessing.
“It’s a mixed bag, that’s for sure and these two singles are just two sides of it."
The Sheila singer then teased: "You’ll have to listen to the whole thing to really know what’s going on."

Discussing his recently announced UK and Ireland tour - which includes three dates at the O2 Academy Brixton - Jamie T shared his love for the South London venue.
"I'm convinced it's my favourite venue in the world," he gushed. "It's just the right size. It's big but it's not too big. (It) sounds good. Everyone can see the show.
"I've seen some of my favourite shows in the world at Brixton so it's always an honour to be able to play it."
