Jake Bugg: "I Listen To Biggie Smalls"

Jake Bugg has admitted his music taste ranges far beyond the world of indie and folk these days.
The Radio X Winter Wonderland Manchester headliner was speaking to Radio X's Clint Boon backstage ahead of his set at O2 Apollo Manchester.
The Lightning Bolt singer tops a bill that includes Darlia, Josh Record, The 1975 and Primal Scream for the first part of our annual Christmas party (part two takes place at O2 Academy Brixton on Thursday).
"I've been listening to a bit of Biggie Smalls on the bus," he admitted to Clint. "That album's brilliant, that first one. I always listen to it. Have it blaring out of the tour bus and people are like 'is that Jake Bugg's tour bus?'
"A bit of classical music as well is always nice. Long journeys."
It's been a big year for Jake Bugg, whose second album Shangri La was released last month. The young musician from Nottingham packed his bags, and headed off to California where he hooked up with legendary producer Rick Rubin of Beastie Boys, Def Jam, Johnny Cash and Public Enemy fame.
He told Clint he wouldn't rule out working with the legendary producer again, if they both had the time.
He also said the follow up to Shangri La will be a different beast to the first two.
"The first album was what life was like living there and stuff and the second one involved things about seeing it from a different perspective. Next year I probably won't be back as much as I was this year, I'll probably just talk about the things that I've experienced and what weird scenarios I've been in while I've been on the road."
