Rob Cavallo has said he doesn't believe that the frontman will be out anytime soon.
Warner Bros Chairman Rob Cavallo - who signed Green Day and produced most of their records - has said that he doesn't know how long frontman Billie Joe Armstrong will be in rehab for.
Armstrong checked himself in following an on-stage meltdown in Las Vegas last month.
The singer "is seeking treatment for substance abuse" according to a statement posted online by the band at the time.
Speaking to Rolling Stone Cavallo gave an update on Billie Joe's progress - saying it is "no joke".
"He's under medical supervision for a while to get him clean".
It is being reported the singer could remain in rehab until the new year.
