Gorillaz share new single The Manifesto ft. Trueno & Proof

The track is the next cut to be taken from the animated band's new album, The Mountain, which is released on 20th March 2026.

Gorillaz have shared their new single, The Manifesto.

The song - which features Argentine rapper and singer Trueno and the late US rapper and former D12 member Proof - is the next cut to be taken from the band's ninth studio album, The Mountain, which is released on 29th March next year.

As a press release explains, the song which carries “themes of the cycle of life and the afterlife” features sarod players Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, who are “brothers who are seventh generation musicians of the Gwalior musical lineage” along with Jea Band Jaipur on brass who have been “serving Indian weddings since 1936," plus Ajay Prasanna on bansuri and The Mountain Choir led by Vijayaa Shanker.

The song comes after the animated band shared the first taste of the record last month in the form lead single The Happy Dictator, which features Sparks.

The Mountain marks the first release of the band's own KONG label and includes collaborations with the likes of IDLES and The Smiths' legendary guitarist Johnny Marr.

The album also features more contributions from late musicians including Tony Allen, Mark E. Smith and Bobby Womack.

The Mountain follows Gorillaz's 2001 self-titled debut, Demon Days (2005), Plastic Beach (2010), The Fall (2010), Humanz (2017), The Now Now (2018), Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez (2020) and Cracker Island (2023).

The band plans to take The Mountain on the road next year with a 2026 UK & Ireland tour.

The string of dates, which kick off at Manchester's Co-op Live on 21st March, includes stops in Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Belfast and Dublin and culminates in a mammoth summer show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 20th June.
