Take a look at the Foo Fighter's man's new ink for the late, great Lemmy Kilmister.
After celebrating his 70th birthday and suffering from a short battle with cancer, Motörhead's frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister passed away on the 27th of December.
As well as a terrific and definitive bassist, Lemmy was also an icon and inspiration to literally thousands of musicians around the world. When the official Motörhead Facebook page revealed the news, condolences poured in. Some of rock's biggest names took to social media to post messages of sadness (including Flea, Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica) and Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme even went on a long rant about the current state of the music industry on Instagram.
One particular artist was Dave Grohl, who wrote "We’ve lost a friend & legend. My heart is broken. RIP Lemmy. Born To Lose, Lived To Win" via the official Foo Fighters twitter page. You can see the tweet below.
Now it seems that Dave Grohl has gone one step further - by getting a tribute to Lemmy tattooed on his arm.
The Instagram account RoyalTattooz posted an image of Big Dave with an ace of spades inked on his left arm, with words "Shake Your Blood." The picture came with the caption "Tattooed #davegrohl from the #foofighters last night hella cool dude."
You can see the post, and tattoo, below.
It's a pretty cool piece of art, we've got to admit. Nice one Dave!
