Editors are taking in Manchester Academy during their recently announced UK tour this November - and drummer Ed Lay has confessed to Radio X it's his favourite venue in the city.

The band will play Manchester Academy on November 22 and Ed told us he's very much looking forward to it.

"We've done the Apollo a few times and although that's a beautiful venue my favourite venue in Manchester is the Academy. It's just a bit of a rock dive and I'd like to see how it is now," he told Radio X's Sunta Templeton.

"We've had a lot of history [there], we've had some brilliant gigs there during the years. We're just very lucky to be able to play such brilliant venues."

The band are also taking in O2 Academy Brixton on the 18 date tour, which they played last year at part of Radio X's Winter Wonderland.

"I think we've played Brixton ten times, Ed admitted. "But the level of the place, it doesn't get boring, it's such a brilliant venue, it sounds mint wherever you're standing, it's got a unique atmosphere.

"We're lucky."
