Anyone who has an iPhone can admit the constant updates are enough to drive you mad, but this latest release is something we can get behind.

Apple have launched a new David Bowie-inspired emoji, featuring the iconic lightening bolt from the late rock star's 1973 Aladdin Sane album.

See the images - which come in the form of a male and female singer, and are part of the iOS update 10.2 - here:

Bowie, who passed away just two days after his 69th Birthday on 10 January 2016, isn't the only famous face being honoured by Apple this month.

An arguable representation of Harambe - the silverback Gorilla who was shot after a young boy fell into his enclosure -  has also been added to the emoji family.

With it comes bacon and several faceplant options... which we anticipate we'll need to help us get through the rest of the year.

Now excuse us while we update our iPhones...
