Bowie's album of the same name will be released on his 69th birthday.
David Bowie has released the video for his Blackstar single, and it's a goodie. The Next Day star recently announced Blackstar will be name of his next album and its accompanying single.
The star unveiled the artwork for the single earlier this week with a video on his Facebook page.
On 26 October 2015, we wrote:
David Bowie has confirmed he will be releasing his new album, Blackstar, on 5 January 2016 - his 69th birthday. The lead single of the same name is due out earlier on 29 November.
The Next Day star took to his official Facebook page to announce the news and clear up "inaccurate" reporting.
The post, which read: "It can now be confirmed that ‘Blackstar’ is the forthcoming single and album from David Bowie," added that "it is not part of David’s theatre piece ‘Lazarus’."
The announcement of a new album and single has sent Bowie fans into a spin, with some begging for it to be played live.
Isle of Wight festival promoter John Giddings suggested the singer would never tour again and - despite the singer correcting claims about his new music - he is yet to comment on these reports.
Could his silence mean we're set to see him perform again, or even play Glastonbury 2016?
