Radio X Unveils The Top 100 Best British Songs

We've revealed who YOU named as the Best British Song Of All Time.... and there were surprises a-plenty.

You’ve voted in your tens of thousands and, frankly, we’ve been staggered by the response. Now, the counting is done and the ballots are in. And we dedicated a whole day to the result.

On Easter Bank Holiday Monday. Radio X counted down the Top 100 Best British Songs Of All Time, with over 50,000 votes coming in from listeners over the past few weeks. And, in a landslide, Oasis dominated the Top 5.

The Mancunian legends held FOUR places in the Top 5 in the chart, with the classic 1995 single Wonderwall coming out on top. It was followed by Don’t Look Back In Anger (2), Champagne Supernova (3) and Live Forever (4).

Speaking to Radio X, Noel Gallagher said: "What can I say? The people have spoken. I'm thrilled."

I Am The Resurrection, the classic Stone Roses track from 1989’s self-title debut album, brought up the rear at Number 5.
