Ian Watkins Child Sex Offence Charges: Trial Date Set
11 March 2013, 15:10
Ian Watkins' trial over child sex offences will take place this summer.
The Lostprophets frontman is accused of conspiracy to rape a baby, two counts of conspiring to engage in sexual touching with two young children, possessing, making and distributing indecent images of children and possessing extreme animal pornography.
The alleged offences date from May to December 2012.
Two women - who can't be named for legal reasons - are also charged with child sex offences.
One, aged 24, is accused of the same six offences as Watkins while the other, aged 20, is accused of the same offences except conspiracy to rape.
Watkins - who denies the charges and has previously said he will contest them at trial - appeared at a hearing at Cardiff Crown Court via a videolink.
A handful of female fans gathered outside the court ahead of the 35 year old's hearing.
All charges were due to be put to the singer today during the plea hearing - but technical problems led to proceedings being adjourned until May.
His trial will begin during the week beginning June 15 and is expected to take up to three weeks.
Watkins remains remanded in custody.
