The Futureheads

Futureheads frontman Barry Hyde is training to be a chef.

The band are on an extended break so he's taken the opportunity to follow up his interest in cookery.

He's currently working at Juniper's Pantry Deli in Sunderland. He met owner David Gill after Gill ran the Gourmet Tent at a festival The Futureheads were involved in.

"I get to wear the whites, but I mainly do preparation, get shouted at and clean up after messy chefs," he told NME.

Apparently he wants to own his own restaurant one day, but that doesn't mean the end of the band.

"I don't think we'll ever break up," he stressed. "It's just that we've been doing he band almost constantly for 10 years and we all wanted to do something different. We'll definitely be back, but for the moment we're on hold and I'm concentrating on this."
