Their eponymous LP is the highest-selling British debut from a band this year.

Blossoms have scored a UK. No.1 with their self-titled debut album.

The Stockport band's eponymous LP -  which includes singles Charlemagne, At Most A Kiss and Getaway - has been named the highest selling British debut from a band this year. 

The five-piece - who are comprised of Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan and Myles Kellock, said: "We're absolutely made up that the album has gone to Number 1. From the scaffolding yard to the top of the charts, who'd have thought it? Viva Stockport!"

Blossoms have had a whirlwind of a year, playing to sold out venues and packed festival shows, including a triumphant set Glastonbury Festival. 

The band recently announced an autumn UK headline tour, which includes dates at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town and The Academy in Manchester.

They've since added date at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire On 13 December, with tickets on sale now.
