Stereophonics And Faithless To Co-Headline Isle Of Wight 2016

Stereophonics Faithless Isle Of Wight

The bands are sharing the bill at the festival on Friday 10 June.

Stereophonics and Faithless have been confirmed as co-headliners for Isle Of Wight Festival 2016. The Welsh rockers and the electronic duo are set to top the bill at Seaclose Park on Friday 10 June.

On the news, Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones said:"I love playing the Isle of Wight Festival. I got to steer the boat over last time. Captain of the ship and honked the horn!

"Only the captain gets to honk the horn. This will be our third time at the festival... I'll leave my white suit at home this time though!"

Faithless added: "We can't wait to return to play such an iconic festival for the second time. We were proud to be part of its relaunch in 2005 and it's an absolute pleasure to be invited back."

But what isn't clear at the moment is exactly who will be closing the night. Co-headlining aside, someone still needs to play last. On the one hand, Stereophonics have got those big, fat singalong tunes. Imagine signing your night off with Dakota or Bartender & The Thief. But, have Faithless have that euphoric edge. It's a tough one to call.

What we know for sure is that Queen are set to close the festival on Sunday 12 June, with Adam Lambert singing the late Freddie Mercury's vocals.
