The Jam - Down In The Tube Station At Midnight

"The distant echo of faraway voices boarding faraway trains..."

Down In The Tube Station is arguably one one of Weller's most accomplished songs, telling the story of a vicious mugging that takes place on the London Underground.

The second single from All Mod Cons in 1978, it featured a cover of The Who's So Sad About Us on the B-side as a tribute to Keith Moon, who'd died a couple of months earlier.
