Damon Albarn has told Radio X new track Hollow Ponds is a sonic diary covering from 1976 to the present day.

The track is being released as a 7" double A-Side with Lonely Press Play for Record Store Day 2014. The full list of releases for the event on 19 April was announced by Radio X last night.

"1976 is a long time ago really," Damon told Radio X's Danielle Perry on the Radio X Evening Show. "There's that realisation that a lot of things have been quite interesting in the way I turned out. They seemed to be worthy of some kind of meditation.

"That's what I'm trying to do in Hollow Ponds: go back and then realise that it's now. In a way, how do we know that we exist other than that beam of light that's our history?"

Danielle also announced last night that Damon Albarn will be playing an intimate ssession at Radio X's London studios next month.

Radio X Presents Damon Albarn takes place Friday 4 April in front of an audience of just 30 fans.

You can win tickets on the Radio X Evening Show Monday-Thursday from 9pm.
